Open Education Week is taking place from 11-15 March 2013 online and in locally hosted events around the world. The purpose of Open Education Week is to raise awareness of the open education movement and its impact on teaching and learning worldwide. Participation in all events and use of all resources is free an open to anyone.
In the Netherlands, the event is organized by Surf, OpenUniversiteit and the TU Delft. The event will take place in the Geldmuseum (money museum) on Wednesday March 13, 2013.
The program this year will consist of (among others):
- presentation by Matthijs Leendertse about trends in education;
- presentation about the trend report OER 2013;
- presentation about Open and Online Education by Anka Mulder (TU Delft);
- presentation about the development in Europe by Fred Mulder (OU);
- videomessage of the European Parliament member Marietje Schaake;
- presentation about the impact of the Paris OER Declaration by UNESCO;
- the student OER-debate about Open and Online Education.
Application for this event is free of charge and can be done on the Surf-website. The complete program can be found there as well.
