About Open Education

Open education is about sharing, reducing barriers & increasing access in education. It includes free & open access to platforms, tools & resources in education (learning materials, course materials, lecture videos, assessment tools, research, study groups, textbooks, etc.). Open education seeks a world where the desire to learn is fully met by the opportunity to do so & where everyone, everywhere is able to access affordable, educationally/culturally appropriate opportunities to gain whatever knowledge or training they desire. Resources here will help you explore: the goals of the open education movement, why institutions & individuals are sharing resources & creating open platforms, how open education projects function, the impact open education is having, & where the movement is headed.
